Our Story

Gavin, the founder of Coffee Bian, developed a passion for coffee at a young age, enjoying cups of instant coffee in his parents' living room. His fascination with the coffee-making process grew, leading him to start working as a barista at a coffee chain in the Netherlands at 17. There, he quickly advanced, becoming the lead barista within eight months, responsible for maintaining product quality and training staff in everything from basic espresso preparation to advanced latte art.

Gavin's pursuit of coffee knowledge extended beyond his work hours, as he delved into coffee literature to broaden his expertise. Seeking new challenges, he moved on to the KLM headquarters, where he furthered his understanding of different coffee machines by disassembling and reassembling them. His journey then led him to Nespresso, where he gained insights into the capsule industry, sustainability, and innovative espresso-making methods.

At 20, with a rich background in coffee and South-East Asian roots, Gavin founded Coffee Bian. His mission is to highlight the unique flavors of South-East Asian coffee and introduce these refreshing origins to the global market.
